GAC Starts Production at Its First Overseas Battery-Pack Factory in Thailand

On 3 November, Guangzhou Automobile Group confirmed that its first overseas factory producing its own battery packs had started operations in Thailand on 29 October. The facility represents a step towards localising the electric-vehicle supply chain outside China. The company did not disclose the plant’s investment value, production capacity or output targets. The development creates opportunities for battery-component suppliers, automotive manufacturers and logistics providers.
